Holy smokes! In our Atlanta garden this rainy, rainy summer, Bumble Rumble, a new addition, has grown to seven feet tall. So tall, in fact that it outgrew its stake and got beaten over by the rain. But it has been blooming steadily--I wouldn't say prolifically--from late July to mid-September with no sign of stopping. Seems disease resistant, too.

The flowers are spectacularly beautiful, and I have never yet seen them without a bumble bee on at least one blossom. Today there was a bee fight going on: a real bumble rumble. My only complaint is that the flowers tend to drop off their stems at the least provocation.

Absolutely stunning flower. Gets lots of attention and tubers form readily.

Bumble Rumble is the earliest dahlia in my garden. It grows very fast in the spring so watch to make sure you catch it in time for pinching. Flowers are 4" to 6" across. The dahila gets a lot of attention. The plant is 4 feet tall.
