With flowers low in the foliage, the most shaded blooms came out a muddy brown with muddy gold edges. I was disappointed. Photos by the breeder were bright red with gold edges. We'll see next year...

Vendor photos and descriptions indicate that this one should be a deep, rich violet with a white ring at the top edge. Mine is growing under somewhat adverse conditions (prime realestate already taken) on a dry bank in full sun. On mine the blooms are a rather insignificant, streaked and faded, med purple with lighter edge. However, the color may be better under ideal conditions.
