I bought this cultivar at Kmart. They were small to begin with, but they took off once planted. I have found this cultivar to be particularly well-suited for containers. For a red salvia to plant in the ground I would suggest "Flare" though. "Flare" has taller flower spikes and needs a little more room. "Vista Red" is the perfect size for containers. I wouldn't go out of my way to find seeds or plants of this cultivar, but I don't regret purchasing it. It's still looks nice on my porch and has been easy to care for.
