Also known as Acer saccharum 'Jefcan'. A third generation seedling grown in southern Manitoba. Initial seed source from northern Minnesota. Can withstand the harsh climate of the Canadian prairies.

Slow to moderate growth rate with an upright crown. Resistant to frost cracking. Orange-red fall foliage. Valued as a collector tree in the prairie landscape. Grows successfully with adequate snow cover and in a sheltered location.
