Rabbitbrush puts on a spectacular roadside show in the Antelope Valley (Lancaster, Palmdale CA outskirts) in the fall. It has a strong licorice fragrance. There is a two-year-old volunteer in my yard which I protect from all would-be weed destroyers. I love this shrub.
