Endemic to the limestone slopes of the Pontus Mountains of Turkey at altitudes of 2600-3400m. Drought resistant..it loves the sun and limy soil. Very pretty silvery blue green rosettes ...very elegant.. that has stayed pretty and wintergreen in my garden...maybe because we've had a mild winter. The plant goes into flowering in its second year. The flowers are rather mundane orange poppies...but are very cheerfull and abundant.
