The "Sayaka" youjiro is one of the hybrids created by Dr.Yoshiaki Yoneda and it is well know that he hybridized Ipomoea nil and Ipomoea purpurea to create these...this entry should accurately reflect what is known about the yojiro taxonomy.

This came in a commercial seed packed from the Lowes garden section. The packet said 'tyedye colors' and had pictures of Mt. Fuji JMGs on it. But, as is typical of many commercial seeds, these grew into not tyedye or Mt. Fuji but 'sayaka' and 'chachamaru'

I have to say I had a 'neutral' experience with these because the vines were so small and frail that I only got one flower off them. The other JMG's and the Japanese Beetles literally ate the sayaka vines. The ChaChaMaru lasted a little longer but met the same end.

I hope to grow these again but in a safer place, lol :)
