Neutral coriaceous On Oct 18, 2014, coriaceous from ROSLINDALE, MA wrote:

The dark foliage is said to hold longer than other dark-foliaged G. pratense hybrids available in 2002. Robin Parrer says it's larger, more vigorous, and more floriferous than the popular 'Midnight Reiter'.

Developed in England by Nori and Sandra Pope of Hadspen House Nursery.

Plant Breeder's Rights (PBR) applied for 2002. US PP pending.

'Nodbeauty' is the cultivar name. "Black Beauty" is a trademark.

I enjoy the more mellow Hardy Geraniums, and have over 40 here throughout the garden, but this one is special! Wonderful deep purple foliage, and lovely lavender flowers, just a very nice plant!!

Amazing geranium, the foliage is dark and full all spring, blooms early summer, the plant is smothered in blooms. It comes pretty true from seed, I get over 95 % purple foliage.
