The toxic principal is Anemonin, and symptoms after ingestion include intense burning sensation in the mouth and mouth ulcers. Dermatitis and skin irritation has also been recorded, as have allergies and hay fever type symptoms from pollen inhalation. We tend to err on the side of caution in PlantFiles, and the danger notation in the details above is to caution gardeners, parents and pet owners to look further for more information.
