This is a very common shrub in our local bogs. The bright pink flowers are wonderful to see against the otherwise greens and browns of a bog setting. The evergreen foliage is quite shiny. Although normally in wet situation, I've grown this one in a regular garden setting among rhododendrons and other ericaceous shrubs. As long as the soil stays reasonably moist, they seem to do OK.
