This pretty Glory of the Sun is a bulb forming plant, loves full sun, little water and well-drained nutrient rich soil. When grown from seeds, they can take up to three or four years to bloom. However, adult bulbs will propagate from bulbils as well, so they should be lifted and separated every 4 to 5 years. Good long-lasting cut flower.

Sowing recommendations: during autumn, in a mix of 3 portions compost, two portions sharp river sand and one portion regular garden soil. Cover this mix with a fine layer of sand, distribute the seeds and barely cover them with another layer of sand. They should only be picked one year after sowing to be planted in a definitive place in the garden, containers, etc.
