Unlike the french and african varieties this plant is excellent at repelling insects. Used by herbalists as a antimicrobial, skin soother. Used in many natural skin products. Grows like a weed here in NY with constant flowers which I cut off and dry or puree with olive oil and keep in 105F for 10 days then strain and seperate out the water...great skin treatment!
All this AND beautiful flowers! Okay so the foliage is not as pretty as some other varieties...get over it!
