Unlike the common 'Virginia Bluebells', the foliage of this Mertensia does not disappear after flowering. Foliage has a lovely blue cast which 'shines' in the shade and has a better clumping form. We've only had the plant in our garden since last spring, so the verdict is still out on its performance - but it was a lovely addition to our rock garden with Ferns and other small gems. One note of caution, it DOES NOT like to be overwatered!
