It is mainly called Veloutier in Mauritius as it is grown for it's blue - silvery leaves, grow better in the coastal region and even right on the seasides where it can also be seen . Grows better in coraline soils. Inflorescence cymrose with a cluster of curved spikes of small flowers, though small but nice flower but it is mainly grown for it's foliage. Once established it's very drought tolerent .
