I bought this from Trehane camellia nursey in January 1999 as a small plant. It has been a very easy plant to look after, and has always flowered well, smothering its branches with clusters of large paeony form, frilly flowers, opening over a long period from April to June.

Its growth habit is upright, but also makes some spreading branches, it is quite compact and fairly slow growing. It has medium sized, pointed dark green leaves which are very glossy and always look good.

It has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, and a hardiness rating of H4, equivalent to USDA zone 7.
