sow whole fruit, which has a single seed. Start indoors and transplant outdoors when no risk of frost. A vine very fast growing in hot weather, full sun, well drained soil. allow it to climb on a tree or a trellis, or even over a south facing roof, where it can best enjoy the very hot sun it prefers. Spiny varieties more productive in cooler areas, smooth ones slow to start, but fruits may be handled without gloves. fruit pear shaped and sized, delicious cooked as for any marrow, but it has a meaty texture that doesn't soften too much, ideal grilled, or breaded and fried. may be eaten raw, thogh a little bit sticky. seed edible and with the same texture of the pulp.
