A true zone 5a plant unlike Chamaecyparis obtusa. Obtusa will show winter burn and even losses during severe winters. This pisifera cultivar has 'obtusa-like' foliage which makes this plant a suitable and attractive alternative for Zone 5 folks seeking a "hardy" obtusa look-alike.
