In the Appeltern display gardens in the Netherlands, this species and L. potentillina are used as lawn alternative in a couple of settings. They give the appearance somewhere between a well-mown broad-leaved grass lawn, and a mossy expanse. No idea how much maintenance it needs, but seems low-maintenance, possibly with a risk of smothering other small delicate plants, but also potentially a beautiful carpet from which larger plants can emerge.

Pcked up a Platt's Black cultivar, interesting tiny leaves are black and green, bush like appearance, a teeny, tiny, little plant. Grows to 1" to 3"
Local nursery had this near the succulents? It's a neat little plant. I'll see how this pocket sized gem does over the summer. Definitely belongs at the front of the border. And even then, I'd place it with lighter colors to set it off.
Will not grow very big, only about 3 inches or so.
Prefers fertilie and sharply drained soil.
