I planted a 16' row of these and harvested 24# so they out-produced the LaSoda Red, Gold Rush and Dakota Pearl potatoes I planted. About 6 weeks into storage they're still holding very well. They taste great and I will be planting more of these next year than I did last year. I'm going to see which of my potatoes stores the best, I may very well plant only these in the future.

Purple Viking is a really delicious potato. It's taste is sweeter and better than any potato I've ever eaten. It's been really easy to grow and compact enough to interplant with other vegetables and flowers. It's really worth growing.

Tubers average 3 1/2- 4" and have excellent storage qualities.

purple skin with pink splashes, white flesh Itís always a pleasure to dig the Purple Vikings. Produces a nice crop of lunkers; large round tubers with pink-splashed purple skin roll out of the earth. Snow-white flesh with just the right amount of mealiness. Compact plant with rounded leaves shows some resistance to leafhoppers.
