Hyacinthus orientalis 'Amethyst' was planted in fall, 2006 so this is its first season with me. It is a pink violet similar to Paul Hermann, except that the petals seem wider and the bloom spike seems slightly shorter.

Hyacinthus orientalis "Amethyst' is reportedly a sport of 'Marconi' and was hybridized by Langelann-Hulsebosch before 1950.
