While I visit Madagascar in 2004. I went to a special place on earth, The Grand Tsingy de Bemaraha, a well known national park, located at the west of Madagascar. This place is the homeland of one of the most rare staghorn, Platycerium quadridichotomum.

In that trip, I found at least 3 clumps of them, most in dormant period but one was resurrecting. In the habitat, this species is found growing as epiphyte and also lithophte on limestone cliff of 'Tsingy' (pinnacle formation of limestone)

Although, it is a really rare species but seem to be more successful and easier to propagate by its several pups than some species such as P.madagascariense.

For any collectors, this rare and unusual species should be in their collection.
