A beautiful French Hybrid.
Flowers very large, with compact, broad and rounded tepals, interior dark Yellow, exterior Blood Red. 1887 (REVUE HORTICOLE 1890); VICTOR LEMOINE CATALOGUE, No.109, 1888 – 1890 ( 2 Years ).
Tip for growing.......... always plant crocosmia corms at least 4" deep. Then if possible put another 4" of bark chippings on the top...... the reason for doing this is the new corms will develop in the bark chippings so you dont have to disturb the plant when collecting corms for cultivating!
I have around 235 varities of crocosmia and find this works in most cases!!!

An eye-catching combination of colors--vivid orange-red on the outside and matte yellow in the throat. Beautiful French hybrid produces dense clusters of flowers--the brick-red, lobed buds alone are worth growing it. Blooms last well in water if cut when half of the flowers are open.
