Very easy to grow from seed which will remain viable for decades if cool and dry. Like many gesneriads, it can also be propagated by leaf cuttings. The tuber is planted in the spring and will behave much like a begonia. The flowers are fragrant and have a soft lemon scent. Besides S. tubiflora, and S. brasiliensis, this is one of the few fragrant Sinningia species.
