Regarding the indication for the addition of the subtaxa of subspecies of brasilensis for Ipomoea pes-caprae...
the ssp.brasilensis subtaxa refers to the plants that have a distinct bilobed leaves and the subspecies brasilensis refers to no other aspect of the plant..
Since the majority of Ipomoea pes-caprae plants that are indigenous and naturalized have bilobed leaves >most of the plants are subspecies brasilensis and are already represented in the PlantFiles.
