This plant has been found in 2009 growing in the wild in western Oregon. Some 50 plants were found. It is showing some invasiveness qualities. I took some of the plants pulled from that site and have a test plot in my yard to see how it will do in my garden. It is very beautiful, the foliage, the flowers are incredibly interesting. I hope it does not get invasive and be listed as a noxious weed like its cousins yellow and dalmation toadflax.

Common name 'Three Birds Flying', a charming tiny flower, long lasting and holds its color in 100+ heat, dark green slender leaves.

April 2004 - Linaria triornithophora has self seeded profusely, but not invasively. It's a lovely plant and is about 30" tall and in full bloom.

Tall perennial (can reach above 36 inches) from Portugal and Spain. Has whorls of lance shaped, mid-green leaves and bears loose racemes of 2 lipped flowers ranging from pink to purple and yellow flowers 2-3 inches long, usually carried in 3s. Also has brownish purple long single spurs.

The flowers remind me of fat little budgerigars and its easy to see why its called the 3 bird toadflax.

Not fully hardy. Easy from seed and may even self seed.

Aphids and mildew can be a problem on this plant.
