This negative rating is for the plant in Northern gardens. Evergreen daylilies are something of a chancy thing in Michigan. Some thrive, others don't like the climate. "China Clipper" struggled through two winters for me and then died shortly after coming up this spring. It never showed much growth. It might be fine in the South but for me, it was a disappointment.

CHINA CLIPPER (Dan Trimmer) Tetraploid (Wild Cherry Roundup x Doyle Pierce) 26 EM Re. Ev. 6 1/4 CHINA CLIPPER is a very clear violet purple with a small lighter watermark and white edge. Two things seperate CHINA CLIPPER from most purples I see on the market. The first of these is a bud count that can exceed 70, but is typically about 40, and the second is the circular form often times missing in some of the current purples
