From Scott Seed: "German R millet is relatively early, fine-stemmed, and leafy with compact cylindrical heads. The spines of the heads tend to be reddish-purple in the immate stage but become straw-colored at maturity. The variety has good seedling vigor and is resistant to lodging. Produces an abundance of hay in 6-8 weeks."
