This species was first identified by Brown in 1903 and is native to South Africa. A nice species, small compared to other Crinum. The short leaves form a rosette almost flattened on the ground and the flower stalks are short too, no more than 30cm tall. Flowers open at late afternoon and are very scented. This species set seeds easily but does not produce offsets. Probably of great value in producing small hybrids.
