I have not grown this plant which is native to tropical Africa. Its native habitats include tidal and seasonal swamps, riverine woodlands, riverine forests, edges of mangroves and seasonally flooded bushland between 0-1200 m alttitude. Usually, it is multi-stemmed; however, it can be trained into a small tree.
