This is a fantastic addition to the Full-moon (Acer shirasawanum) group of Japanese maples with chartreuse leaf color. Intruduced by Carl Munn of Munn's Nursery in Oregon, this plant is a HUGE improvement for sun tolerance over the parent tree, 'Aureum'. New growth is carmine red.

We have recently planted one of 'Moonrise' in full sun here in Georgia, and will report on its performance.

This plant has been said to grow in the following regions:

Bear, Delaware
Danielsville, Georgia
