My experience with Ginko biloba is limited to the full size tree not the dwarf variety, but I think the dwarf may share some significant charactaristics. Ginko trees have each sex on a separate tree so you need both a male and a female tree to produce fruit and seeds. The male tree is a good street tree - light shade, roots not near surface so the paving isn't damaged and an easy cleanup of fallen leaves in autumn, However, the female tree bears lots of fruit that is very messy and can cause dermatitis and is very smelly. A large female Ginko is growing on the grounds of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. For obvious reasons the females are rarely grown
