From your Friends at Botanical Interests: Chinese Kale (also known as Kailaan, Chinese Broccoli, or Gai Lan) is similar to broccoli, only with sweeter, more succulent flavor. The leaves, stalk, and florets can be steamed or stir-fried and substituted for broccoli in many dishes. It is easy to grow and will tolerate heat better than many kale and broccoli varieties. High in calcium, iron, vitamins A and C. (For a gourmet treat - sautee the thinnings from your planting.) Harvest plants at any stage. Mature in 60-70 days.
