Hyacinth orientalis 'Rose of Naples' has been growing in my garden since 2001. It is a double mediuam pink with very fat flower buds. It blooms quite early in late Feb-early Mar in my Zone 9 garden and is the first pink double hyacinth to bloom. I can't say it is a strong perennializer as I am down to only 3 bulbs after starting with 9, but there may be other factors. As with all my hyacinths, I do keep it quite dry all summer.

I bought my bulbs from Park Seed but have not been able to find out anything about the parentage of this bulb, nor can I find anyone who still offers it. If anyone knows anything more about this cultivar, please post or contact me.
