The flowers are a bit more purple than the photo, but more blue than S. rupicola. large, flat, wavy leaves, perhaps the origin of "girl" foliage in modern hybrids. Selfs easily and the pod stems twist back if seeds are set. Not as many blooms as S. rupicola but less prone to leaf spots under fluorescents. A very easy to grow species African violet and can be cultured in a terrarium.
