Growing in containers outdoors in English Midlands; am trying overwintering as the plants have amazingly survived our coldest and snowiest weather for decades, despite being categorised as 'half hardy annuals', surprisingly tough! I only sowed very late in the season (June!) as an experiment ( the seeds came free with a gardening magazine ), so only one flowered end of summer/early autumn: pinks, deep red and yellow.. The foliage, in varying shades of bronze and purple-green remained attractive enough to leave until, I imagined, the cold would kill off the plants, but it's still there, giving a welcome bit of winter leaf colour having easily outlasted my so-called hardy cyclamen!
