This native of India can get 4 ft tall and has green foliage. Bright red flowering cones (1 1/2" across) bloom at ground level and even partially below the soil. Each scale produces a single inch-wide red flower with a creamy colored lip marked in red. Blossoms emerge one after the other over the course of several weeks.
