From Musser: Open, loosely pyramidal growth habit. Growing to a height of 40 to 60 feet. Spread 30 to 50 feet. Dark green needles. This hybrid combines the winter hardiness of Pitch Pine and the rapid growth rate of Loblolly Pine. The extensive, fibrous root system enables this plant to adapt well to extreme soil conditions. Prefers acidic soil. Plant in full sun. Can be used for fast screen, wilderness plantings and in solitary locations where poor soil and droughty conditions exist.
