This plant is a self-seeding annual in my Zone 5B garden, but not in my Zone 5A garden but I can plant out the seed there in the spring readily. Here the growth size matches the available space - stays small in small space -bigger in big ones.

Growth starts after the irises are finished and continues until frost. The leaves are like a wide maple of deep green with tiny speckles of black. Flowers at the ends of new growth - and the spent blooms become interesting seed pods. This is a favorite on mine for filling in spaces - and it is very easy to remove where unwanted.
