This plant is new in my collection this year. I planted the parent rhizome last July 2006, and it has grown and bloomed remarkably well. All of this in spite of some of the most bizarre weather conditions over winter and early spring!

The following information is provided from the American Iris Society Check List database, and includes the official description of Night Mood: "Lynn Markham, R. 2002), Sdlg. 9395-64A. SPEC-X, 24" (61 cm), EM "S. opaque soft wistaria blue (RHS 92B), deeper texture veining; style arms wistaria blue; F. wistaria blue, deeper texture veining, hafts lightly brushed antique gold; beards thick, intense blackish violet (darker than 89A), hairs tipped mustard in throat; slight sweet fragrance. Blackbeard X I. aphylla "Dark Violet". Markham 2003."
