size medium 2 1/2 - 2 1/4 in, round-conical, fairly regular, a little flat sided slightly ribbed. Ground color pale greenish yellow becoming cream, slightly to moderately blushed bright red, short broken bright red stripes. Lenticels numerous but inconspicuous as white dots; skin smooth and slightly greasy. Flesh white, rather soft, very juicy, sweet and refreshing. Tree medium to small, upright and spreading. Produces spurs very freely. Well known second early dessert apple. Grown commercially and in gardens in UK. Bruises easily, needs thinning, biennial.
