I grow this plant in a pot as our soils are heavy clay and this plant likes good drainage. The plant is handsome and trouble free, but its outstanding feature is how it feels, which presumably gave it its name. However a friend described it as like silk, and she was right I never walk past it without stroking it, it's like an extra pet in the family.
