The "Silver Bird’s Nest" variety of the Snake Plant (Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Silver Hahnii’) is only about seven to ten inches tall. Its lime/olive green foliage is arranged in an attractive rosettes. This hahnii is slightly taller than the green variety. Silver Hahnii originated as a sport of Hahnii in New Orleans and was patented (Plant Patent No. 1220) back in 1953 by Sylvan Hahn. Its growth habit is just about identical to that of `Hahnii'.

Same care as the standard Snake Plant, just make sure you take care in winter to keep rather dry or you can get root rot. Feed with cactus plant food or half rate of 20-20-20 during growing season.

This plant is hard to come by, never seen too often. Only have seen it sold on the internet.

This is not to be confused with 'Hahnii Silver Frost' This plant is all-over silver, like a Hahnii version of cv. 'Moonstone'. It is a very beautiful plant but extremely sensitive to root rot like many Hahnii cultivars. If it wasn't so easy to rot I would give it a positive rating.
