I have just purchased 2 plants and am trying them now; the following is from a literature search:

Dorman Red is a heat and drought tolerant cultivar developed for the Southeastern US by Mississippi State University. It is reported to grow relatively well, but fresh berries lack flavor of berries grown in the North and high elevation Southern sites with cooler summers. Cooking the berries greatly improves flavor. Dorman Red is a trailing raspberry which requires trellising. Flowers are self-fertile and require no cross-pollination.
