A wonderful, proven small to medium shrub for Portland neighborhoods. Planted at the end of a parking strip and surrounded by hot impervious surfaces, I gave it almost no supplemental water in the hottest months of its' first year from the nursery pot, and no protection during a dry winter blast. It has out shown many other babied additions, growing to a admirable size in one year with no apparent pest or diseases.
