'Wisley Supreme' Chinese witch hazel is an excellent recent introduction in this family of fine winter-flowering shrubs (or small trees, if your growing conditions are good). Blazing yellow flowers during the frigid months are always welcome in the Ohio River valley, and 'Wisley Supreme' doesn't fail to please.

Add the powerful sweet scent common to Chinese witch hazel, and the landscape is blessed with color and fragrance when most gardeners are looking for an excuse to remain indoors.

This plant also has exceptionally attractive foliage during the summer months, with dark green leaves with fuzzy undersides. Fall color on 'Wisley Supreme' can be a fine yellow to yellow-orange.
