'Pristine' magnolia is a hybrid from two great parent plants, M. denudata x M. stellata 'Waterlily'. It provides wonderful fragrance in addition to pure ivory-white spring flowers on a vigorously growing small pyramidal tree.

It was developed by the late Dr. J. C. McDaniel, horticulture professor at the University of Illinois and all-around generous plantsman.
