this edible Xanth has leaves that are used to wrapp food in for cooking, --used as a cooked green, --cook time is 10 to 20 min [boiling time with a little salt added to water], for young leaves, -
--steaming time for food bundles would be 30min, --to 4 hrs depending on recipe, --it is a very beautiful plant, - harvest the leaves as close to the top of stem as possible as the stems have more iritating crystals in them than the leaves do, -
The young leaves when they first come out [before they un-roll] are very good just steamed for a few min, --I steam mine for about 10 min , -- they are very good, --
