This is a recently discovered new coffee species from Cameroon. The reason it is of interest to the commercial coffee business is that is is naturally caffeine free and is also self pollinating. Coffee growers hope to be able to cross breed this coffee with the popular arabica and robusta species' to create a coffee with the flavor of arabica or robusta beans but that is self pollinating and is naturally decaffeinated.
