Widespread perennial, native to mountainous regions of Europe at lower elevations. Very hardy and long-lived; undemanding; makes a pleasant, moderately-spreading groundcover in sun or semi-shade, to 2 inches tall. Blooms through June in zone 3, Alberta, Canada.
