I have not grown this plant. Natal plum (Carissa macrocarpa) 'Green Carpet' is a low spreading plant that makes an excellent ground cover. It can also be grown in containers. Because of its thick leathery leaves, it does not suffer from salt and wind damage; therefore, it is very useful in coastal areas.

Caution: All parts of Natal plum are poisonous except for the ripe fruits. It is often noted that seeds within the fruits are poisonous.
